Small Business Friday: Floral Art Prints

It’s Small Business Friday! I’ve been in the mood for Spring and warmer weather, and so naturally I’ve been smitten with all things floral. So, this week I’m sharing some of my favorite artists with lovely floral art prints that have caught my eye recently. Check out these lovely ladies and show them some love!

Check out other Small Biz Friday posts here and here.

Small Business Friday: Floral Prints by Gold Standard Workshop

I found Christine on Instagram and immediately fell in love. Her florals are bold and bright and would be a beautiful burst of color on your wall. And—she’s having a sale on some of her prints, so now is the perfect time to find something that strikes you!

GSW Travels: Tucson, Arizona

If you follow me over on Instagram, you know #ihaveathingforsucculentsandcactus. So you shouldn’t be surprised to see a post full of these cuties from my trip to see my family in Arizona. My dad, being the good sport he is, took me to see all kinds. And airplanes! If Check out these travel ideas for Tucson, Arizona and add them to your list!

SAGUARO NATIONAL PARK

The saguaro cactus is the largest in the United States and only found in a small area. The Saguaro National Park houses acres and acres of these giants that can grow to 60 feet tall and live to be 150-200 years old. Seeing rolling hills with forests of crazy cacti made me feel like I was on an alien planet.

Wrap It Wednesday: Modern Floral

Wrap it Wednesday: Modern Florals by Gold Standard Workshop

It’s Wrap It Wednesday! My favorite day of the week! This week, we’re looking at another pretty modern floral wrapping paper from Paper Source (see Spring Floral Part 1 here and all kinds of wrapping tips here) that would be a beautiful and colorful choice for Easter décor. The brush strokes combined with the pretty poppy orange really pop. It would make a fantastic table runner on a white table top. It’s reasonably priced at $2.95 per sheet, and it’s a great deal if you buy the roll, which has two large sheets (larger than if you’d buy each sheet) priced at $7.95.

Free Printable: Stay Curious

Kicking off this rainy Monday in Seattle (we’ve had the rainiest winter on record and I’m trying not to be grumpy about it) with a free printable!

Free Printable: Stay Curious by Gold Standard Workshop

Spring is the perfect time to try new things, explore, and learn something new to add to your list of super ninja skills. But how do you do it? How do you do stay curious, especially when you have so much on your plate. Curiosity is really just asking questions, looking for more information, and learning something new. It could be as simple as learning a new skill like hand lettering or how to cook a new meal, to making plans based on what you learn for a new vacation, or even a new career! Staying curious takes time, even a few minutes, to stop and answer those questions. There are so many possibilities, as long as you stay open to new ideas. The key is to take some time out for yourself, be open to new ideas (and change!), and ask questions—to grow and learn something new, and even hop down that Alice rabbit hole to a whole world of possibility and ideas.

DIY Sequin Heart Patches

Sequins? Of course. Sequins on your elbows? Why, yes, thank you. Sequin heart shapes? Oh my goodness. That’s what we’re doing today–DIY sequin heart patches! I was a little nervous about this project and kept putting it on the back burner. I thought it would be too hard make heart shapes with sequins. But I was wrong!! It’s so easy. And fun. And simple. I chose gold sequins but red, pink, rainbow, they’d all be pretty. And you could make pins for your lapel or hair, or add these to cute gift bags.

Tip: I know sequin trim can be expensive. Keep your eyes open for sequin trim at the Dollar Spot at Target. I bought packs of gold and black over Christmas, $1.00 per pack. Plenty for a small project like this!
